Question by The Equalist: What kind of dreams do sleeping pills cause?
I’ve never taken sleeping pills, but I’ve read about them and heard from people who have… and they say sometimes it gives them odd or bizarre dreams. I read that using pills is not a “natural” way to go to sleep.

I’m just curious as to specifically what kind of dreams anyone here has had with sleeping pills… perhaps someone here who has slept on sleeping pills can answer & describe.

Thanks.

Very slowwwwwwwwwwwww, sleepy ones.

No seriously…….the whole POINT of sleeping pills, is presumably, that you are having trouble SLEEPING. Therefore and to whit, you are probably not acheiving proper REM, and the proper level of sleep, required for dreams.. Perhaps you have apnea, or breathing problems, and wake up frequently, like I do, that prevents you from ever really dreaming, or dreaming for LONG.

By taking sleeping pills, presumably, they will knock you out, (not always true)….and you will achieve the sleep depth you NEED for dreams, and it will theorhetically last LONGER, so you are likely to have longer dreams. And usually speaking, the longer dreams are, the weirder they get…..the more we remember them when we awake and so forth.

So you should have longer and better dreams. Let’s hope they’re GOOD ones!

Sweet dreams!
