Question by carl L: What is the max amount of sleeping pills you can take?
I bought some sleeping pills with 50 mg Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride each, and was wondering what the maximum dosage is. The box says to take 1, but can you take 2 with no side effects to fall asleep faster?

You should not take more the 150-200 mg within a 4-6 hour timeframe. Every person is different but Diphenhydramine or Benadryl can cause PVC’s or Irregular Heartbeat. You also build a tolerance very quickly with Diphenhydramine so the more you take and the more often you take it, the more you’ll need the next time in order to feel the same effects. Diphenhydramine is used as an antihistimine and sleep aid for short term use. Anything needed longer should be consulted with a doctor. There are others that are safer but also have there own side effects.
