Question by carchick1991: What can happen if you take five sleeping pills?
My friend who is in another state right now just told me that he just took five sleeping pills. Because I can’t get to him I need to know what to tell him to do. He took them within fifteen minutes of each other, This makes me really very nervous and I really don’t know what to do!!

Taking that many sleeping pills is going to lower his blood pressure and his heart rate…im sorry to say but its a possibility your friend may not wake up…….

Well…judging by the sort of pills…
There is a chance that he might fall asleep.
So be careful.
He can die. I overdosed on sleeping pills, and had to get my stomach pumped. I would call the authorities in his town, to someone that lives in his town so he can get some help. Sleeping pills are nothing to play around with.
try your friend to get Emmit(vomit)…
this will take sleeping pills out of stomach….
try some stimulants…
call emergency services for medical help.

Actually, depending on the type of sleeping pill, it could increase his heart rate. Were they OTC or prescription? I can’t think of any commonly used sleeping pill where 5, by themselves, is enough to be toxic. It would be prudent to find out if he’s washed them down with any alcohol. You should definitely find out why he took that many… If he’s suicidal he needs treatment.
First of all don’t get panic.Try to make contact with your friend,is he conscious? if yes than tell him to take salt water 2-3 glasses , that will make him forceful vomiting, after that make a consult with a doctor.
