have you tried benadryl, it is not addictive and works nice. try 25mg when you go to bed. it makes you sleepy but you don’t notice. I take it when i want to sleep well. I have trouble staying asleep all night.
I also know people that work night shift that use it to try to sleep during the day. it is not a strong medicine and you have a natural sleep.

Do you have anxiety? I usually cant sleep at night cuz of that. But speaking from experience in having tried everything, I would try something natural so you dont get addicted. Try going to an herbal or vitamin store. Melatonin should work well, even Valerian, maybe some herbal tea. or things of that sort. Ask the people at the shop.
Maybe it might help also to take a bath before bed, read a book and let yourself fall asleep. Good luck, I know how you feel.
Advil Pm is a good OTC sleep agent–but all that is Benadryl and Advil combined. Very expensive.
Unasom is a good second choice.
A good idea you may want to try is Zyrtec. It is used for allergies now OTC but works well to get people to sleep and have a good sleep. It is the same as taking a Benadryl.
My suggestion is start with 1/2 pill to see how tired it actually makes you. You do want to function the next day.
You can not take these is you have allergies to advil benadryl and zyrtec of course. But may not be a good idea to call your Dr to give them a heads up.
I would try benadryl first and if that don’t work, try tylenol Pm..
