Ask your doctor ONLY about this. It is different for each woman.

I wouldn’t take anything… if you can avoid it. You never know what can affect the beeboo.

No,no.no. Tylenol PM is Tylenol and Benadryl!! Most Ob’s will not advise taking anything for sleep. Benadryl is not allowed when pregnant. Consult your doc. and Good Luck!

Def ask your doctor. Maybe drink some warm milk before you go to be and do some light exercises. That might help. I know I was allowed to take tylenol while I was pregnant if I had a headache but that was it. And just reg. Tylenol, not Tylenol pm. Call your docs office :)

My doctor says Tylenol PM is fine to take during pregnancy. It is common to experience insomnia during pregnancy. I had such bad insomnia during my first pregnancy that my midwife put me on ambien.

ugh, I so remember the sleepless nights while pregnant. The bad new is that it is most likely something you will just have to deal with. Definately ask your doc. Mine didn’t allow me to take anything and said it’a all a part of pregnancy. Even be cautious of herbal remedies.

Good luck.

You are supposed to steer clear or anything pm or dm because it has added things in it that pose a risk. Just have a ton of pillows, or a body pillow or two, drink some warm milk, and maybe take a warm (not hot) bath before you go to bed and that should help some… It does for me. You should ask your doctor about this also.

Valerian root is a category D in pregnancy (not safe) because it is a benzodiazepine, and benzodiazepines have been shown to cause birth defects and other problems. My OB said it is perfectly safe to occasionally take Tylenol PM to help you sleep. I have anxiety and it is much safer than the anti anxiety meds. All it is, is Tylenol and Benadryl..both on the safe list for pregnancy. I took it occasionally when I was pregnant with my third baby and he was perfectly fine. But you don’t want to become dependent on it. You should talk to your Dr before you take any medications, especially sleep aids. We don’t know your physical health or anything about you. What may be safe for one person, might not be for someone else.
