The most effective diet long term is the “common sense diet” – burning more calories than you consume. It’s not as hard as it sounds, your body naturally burns more than 1,000 calories per day!

The most important thing is to begin good habits now that will continue for the rest of your life. Replace fatty sides and processed foods with fruits and vegetables. Don’t drink soda. Work out 3-4 days a week, 30 minutes per day. Drink lots of water. If you like green tea, drink it. Be intentional with your eating habits – don’t snack out of boredom, put your meal on your plate and sit down before you start eating (don’t start snacking on potato chips while you’re preparing the rest of your meal), and be careful when you eat out. Look online at restaurant’s nutrition guides so you know which foods to avoid.

Do not start something like this on your own.

Make an appointment with your dr and discuss it with him or her to find out what the right path is and always keep your dr in the loop.

Fad diets like atkins and south beach diet are nothing but money making scams
