You lose weight when you burn more calories every day than you eat. So, what are you eating and how much? Salad may be healthy but if you’re putting a gallon of dressing on every week then it’s NOT going to help you lose weight.

There’s a great website that will help you keep track of your calories for free: http://www.fitday.com

Probably negligible. One mile a day is too short. You don’t really have to do it everyday, but the exercise intensity should increase. Maybe like 3 miles a day, 3 days a week. Eating healthily has not much effect on weight loss. It’s the amount of calories you eat that contributes to your weight and amount of calories you burn that contributes to the loss.

For example, if your weight hasn’t been fluctuating for sometimes, it means that your intake calories balanced with your calories burned. If you maintain this food portion, maintain the same diet, by running 3 x 3miles weekly, you should lose half to one pound every week because the running caused a calorie deficit to your body.

For weight loss via exercising, you should set your target low, like 2 – 5lbs every month. So if you take my suggestion, set it to half a pound every week, you’ll see results every week.
