Question by LuvinMyLife: Question about sleep aids and pregnancy ?
I know that unisom is safe during pregnancy but I was wondering about extra strength unisom? I have the equate (walmart brand ) of unisom but it is the kind that is generic to the unisom extra strength liquid gels. I just want to make sure they are safe before I take one tonight.

I’m not sure, but it sounds like it’s fine. I do know that Lunesta is pregnancy safe and so are Ambien and Ambien C.R. if your sleeping is so bad that you need a prescription, like I do. Melatonin isn’t safe.

My doctor only told me that unisom, or benedry is okay to help me sleep. I personally wouldn’t take the extra strength without calling the OB, it might be too much for the baby.
