Question by Victory is mine!: Over-the-counter sleep aids that are safe for fourteen year old?
I’m having a really hard time getting to sleep and it’s affecting my grades and energy level (duh!)
I want to ask my mom to pick something up at the store, a sleep aid maybe, but I don’t know what.

Also, if you have any techniques to induce quick sleep, that would be helpful, as well.

Thanks in advance

most of them are not for children under 18, so i suggest going to a doctor and getting a prescription.

Unisom is over-the-counter, and it helps me. I’ve had sleep problems and symptoms of insomnia since I was about 12 or 13, and just recently I’ve started waking up at 3 in the morning and not falling back asleep. Unisom helped me stay asleep, and it’s non-dependable. They come in pills or meltable tablets.

Some of the best effective methods include not having caffeine for at least 8 hours before bed, and also get at least 40 minutes of rigorous exercise in the day sometime.

Those are some good articles of sleep on Wikihow. They actually work pretty well. But if you still want the sleeping aid, then I heard that NyQuil is a good brand.

Keep in mind that I am NOT a doctor and can not recommend any medicine, I’d seek medical advice from your child’s pediatrician.

Benadryl!! you can also ask your doctor or a local retail store pharmacist with your mother of course due to your age. Good luck!

Get generic benadryl. The active ingredient makes most people very sleepy. Most OTC non habit forming sleep medications use the same active ingredient but cost a little more.
