I used Tylenol’s Simply Sleep but you might want to talk to your doctor about some other medication that will help with sleep. My sister took trazadone for the same reason and she was on zoloft.

Insomnia is one of lexapro side effects, but somnolence is too, so I depends on the patient. Madications that deals with neurotransmitters like lexapro, don’t work that fast (unfortunately) but if you are patient you might be surprise because is a great drug.
Mixing Lexapro with over the counter sleeping pills… not a good idea.
In the other hand there are some other medications that might replace Lexapro or be combined with it, that cause somnolence and you might be happier. In that case you need to talk to your doctor or nurse about, but make sure that you explain how important this issue is for you,and then they might make the change in your medication. Hope it helps. Good luck!

I take Lexapro, and I take 2 1/2 Advil PM. I have been for 5 years, and I am perfectly healthy.

It’s best to check with your doctor or Pharmacist before taking any over the counter meds. More people die each year from OTC drugs mixed with prescription meds than any other non-violent death, especially the elderly. I saw that someone suggested “Simply Sleep” and it may be an option, after you get the OK from a professional. However, all Simply Sleep is is benadryl, so save yourself some money and buy the generic benedryl.
