Question by LS: I can’t sleep, what’s another option instead of sleeping pills?
I can’t sleep at night! I fall asleep and then at about 2:30 or 3:00 every night I wake up and can’t go back to sleep. Then by the time I do fall into a deep sleep, my alarm goes off. I don’t have medical insurance so I can’t ask for sleeping pills. What else could I do?

Melotonin! Its a natural chemical that makes you sleep and is produced in your brain. You can buy some tablets of it at Walmart or where ever. Its realllllll good. Plus its cheap! Trust me hahaha.

sometimes stretching your body to exhaustion helps. i’ve heard that warm milk helps but i’ve never tried it. if nothing works, than maybe look something up n the internet :)

My doc recently suggested Benadryl, it is an over the counter antihistimine.

benadryl can help, but rather than drugs try warming milk and adding a little nutmeg- the natural chemicals in it can help you sleep without the “drug” hangover.
You might also try this exercise- lay down to sleep and start with your toes- flex the toes and then relax them- balls of the feet same drill, up to ankles, calves, and keep going up to top of the head, then take three deep breaths and slowly let them out- close eyes and “float”– might help.

Maybe consider eating foods containing Tryptophan, the chemical most commonly known in Turkey to make you sleepy.

There’s a list of foods that have Tryptophan in it on Wikipedia – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tryptophan

Working out after work might wear you out too.
