trying to jump start my diet, but i feel bogged down, any good detox diets out there?

Hi

I did a detox diet from the Matt Roberts fitness book a few years back. I’m actually quite fit and slim but was feeling tired at work so I cut out alcohol, coffee, tea and carbs (at night) for the first week then added the carbs back in small quantities plus I added healthy beans and pulses to my diet several times a week – mainly at lunch with things like bean salads.

While the objective of the detox is not just weight loss I lost half a stone and have never put it back on! That was down to no alcohol I think and cutting out any processed food like crisps, I don’t eat chocolate so that wasn’t a problem and the diet just educated me to eat more healthily.

If you are serious on detoxing your body then water only is what you need to be on, but you won’t lose any weight that you won’t regain again. For proper fasting, read up this book:

Hi Paula,

As a matter of fact, you don’t really need a detox diet since your body will detoxify on its own if you feed it with enough fiber (soluble and insoluble). Vegetables will give you tons of fiber you need to detox. But if you can’t stand the taste of veggies, you can blend them together with some fruits you like and make it into smoothie.

A really waste of money to get any detox diet. Just change what you eat to more wholesome natural foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, grains, seaweeds etc. Eat less meat and you’ll have less toxins stored in your body.
