Question by cuety_tooz: Could anyone advise me on how to get a good nite sleep without sleeping pills?
I’ve been suffering from insomia for bout past two years.My family doc prescribe me this medicine called Paxidorm.He said this pills are safe to be taken everyday.Sometimes even after taking these pills I still can’t sleep.But I really wonder are there any other ways to make me sleep the natural way?I’ve avoided heavy meals b4 going to bed,drinking warm milk,exercise,avoiding naps in the day…but they never work!!

Learn to calm your nerves and thoughts. Try yoga and see if it will work for you. In the meantime have you tried to soak in a warm bath scented with lavender? Try it before going to bed. When you close your eyes and you are bothered by lots of busy thoughts, loll yourself to sleep by replacing those thoughts with something repetitive to dull it. Good luck.

When I can’t fall asleep, usually I feel like I have too much pent up energy. So I normally just go for a quick run or work out for a bit. That usually does the trick.

You might also want to try chamomile tea as some people have said that it helps calm them and makes falling asleep become easier. Also, maybe reading for an hour or so before your bedtime might make you drowsy.
