Question by Sarah Davidson: Is is legal to have ephedrine in Utah by buying it online?
Just wondering if it is legal in Utah to have ephedrine. From what I understand, it isn’t legal to sale as a supplement, but I think you can buy it online and legally obtain it that way. Is this true?

Ephedrine is illegal to possess and is dangerous.

It’s legal to sell and own. It’s a cold medicine. The problem is it is used to make illegal Meth so they just track how much you buy so they can see if you’re an illegal drug maker.
Ephedrine is legal, but sale is restricted (to 3.6 grams daily or 9 grams in thirty days) by federal law. Mail order sales are restricted even more (to 7.5 grams in thirty days).
The limits stand regardless of the number of transactions or sources.
If Utah’s statue is stricter (I couldn’t find it) it would override the federal law. The source is irrelevant to the charge.
