I would avoid pills of any kind in my teens as much as possible. Just because that is your main development stage.
But if it really is a big problem like you said, then only a doctor can say if your able to take sleep pills. And if so, what kind you can take.
Because there are some really strange side effects to some of them. They can even cause psychological problems.

Like Ambien can give you really bad sleep walking episodes, with amnesia after the event, and cause your mood to change. Also sleep pills tend to make you sleepy all day long the next day. So the trade-off is up to you and your doctor, if you think the benifit is worth dealing with the side effects.

I take Ambien but only once in a while, and I’m a heavy sleeper so it doesn’t make me sleep walk or anything. The only reason my doctor said it was ok is because I don’t take it every night. I only take it when I know I’m getting a really bad migraine. So I can sleep past most of it and, to me, that is well worth risking the side effects.

Also the reason for your sleep problems may be something completely different. Like hyper tension or stress issues, where sleep problems are just a symptom. So only your doctor can figure that out with you and your parents.

If that is the case, then there are better ways to deal with those problems.
And they don’t all involve medication.

A sleep problem like this could be related to another illness so see your doctor to check if it could be anything and he can also give you sleeping pills in moderation that will work. Hope everything’s ok.

God bless!
