Question by Bren: How many mg’s of ephedrine a day are recomended for weight loss?
I know you can lose weight using OTC asthma meds like broncaid, which each contain 25 mgs of ephedrine HCl…I’m just at a loss as to how much I should take a day? Enough to lose weight but not so much where it’s dangerous. thanks.

I know I won’t get best answer with this one…but the answer is ZERO. Ephedra is not safe in any form. Asthma meds with HCL are not meant to be weight loss supplements. Can they work, sure, but trust me, the benefits do not out weigh the risks. Even at 20 mg 2x daily, you can cause permanent liver damage. Especially if your intent is dieting because chances are you are already stressing your liver with a decreased caloric intake.. and if you mix in the occasional alcoholic drink, you can cause liver damage and failure in a hurry. Your other organs are also taxed. Heart, kidneys and brain.
Trust me, just watch what you eat and exercise and skip the Broncaid or any other form of ephedra ma-huang or derivative.
