Question by rachw0: How long does HGH stay in your system?
I’m looking for a research topic and wondered how long HGH can stay in your system. I remember recently an MLB player was suspended a second time for testing positive for steroids even though he had not taken any in over 2 years. MLB acknowledged this, but still had to suspend him. So I guess I’m wondering if children/teens have HGH injections, does this eliminate the possibility of them playing professional sports or qualifying for the Olympics? Any comments would be great, as I am trying to determine if this is a feasible topic for a paper.

Thanks.

Anyone taking GH injections for deficiency will only raise their hormone levels to normal so don’t have to worry about not being able to play sports. GH is a naturally occuring hormone from the pitutiary gland. Anyone who tests having high levels either has a pituitary tumor they don’t know about or is taking growth hormone without medical necessity. There is really no other reason for the pituitary to make more than is necessary. I am GH deficient and take daily injections….I’m not sure how long excess would stay in your body but I feel the effects if I miss one dose so can’t be very long.
