Question by Hilary: How long did you wait to start exercising/dieting after your baby was born?
I had my daughter 9 days ago. I am also breast feeding. Honestly Im feeling really good and feel as if I could start exercising, however I know it is probably way too soon.

How long did you ladies wait to start exercising/dieting? (especially if you were breast feeding)

Thanks!

I waited almost the full 6 weeks that they recommend, I began to start lightly jogging at about 4 & half weeks. My daughter is solely breastfed & now is 3 & half months old. I would wait a couple weeks at least so you could heal even though you feel great. Sometimes it’s best to play it safe even if it seems unnecessary. Congratulation on your little princess & good luck getting back that pre-baby body!

I waited about three weeks but you should always talk to your doctor first.

If you are feeling good you could start with light exercising, like power walking or lifting light weights. You may want to wait until you see your doctor before doing any sit-ups, as your ab muscles have separated and need time to return to their normal positions.
