Pills don’t work.
Surgery doesn’t address the underlying problems, such as poor diet and lack of exercise.
Gimmick diets generally don’t work, and are just a way to make your wallet thinner, not your waist line.

Dieting can be done without doing exercise, but exercise improves your stamina and strength. Weight training can improve your posture, reduce the chance of pulling muscles, and it makes you strong. Cardio exercise increases the health of your heart, and increases your endurance. It also means you can eat a bit more food when you are dieting, plus nice muscle development makes you look good, and increases your confidence.

Exercise gets your blood flowing, strengthens your heart, muscles and bones.

Dieting alone can cause your metabolism to slow and you can lose muscle

Surgery well that’s a given really

Pills don’t work. they are gimmicks

Exercise will help you sustain your weight loss and fitness in the long run. The others won’t.

Exercising is a healthy activity that increases blood flow, heart rate and speeds us metabolism. Dieting is great when combined with exercise but only a balanced diet. Crash diets and surgery are both potential major traumas to the body. Another point is that once you have lost weight you will need to have a balanced diet and exercise anyway or it will just pile back on. Surgery and crash diets may take weight off quickly but won’t keep it off. Also if you lose a lot of weight quickly without exercising you will look saggy and untoned.

Basically, because exercise also builds up some body-parts/systems, you’re gonna need to stay fresh in the long-run, it’ll improve your bone-density(to prevent osteoporosis), it improves your Cardiovascular system, it’ll take pressure of your organs, both those things aid to prevent disease, and help boost your immune system, it has a relaxing effect, and improves your mood.

Plus, it’ll create more of a maintainable balance than just diet, surgery, or pills do, so it improves your long-term success too.

The advantage is simple….

Being overweight and out of shape is not the problem…it’s the symptom. The problem is the lifestyle that created it. Being overweight and out of shape is a result of eating choices, and activity choices.

Quick fixes like surgery and pills don’t address these issues. So, you have the surgery, and you start losing weight…but the habits created by your eating choices and activity choices are still there, so you end up putting the weight back on. Most of us know of someone who had surgery and lost a ton of weight…only to gain it back.

To make an analogy…it’s like the person who spends more money than they make…so they are always broke…and one day, they win the lottery….and a year later, they are broke again.

You *NEED* to fix the things that caused you to be overweight and out of shape. That’s the only way to ensure long term success.
