Question by sonshine: How do you get extra sleep if you are very tired and you cannot sleep without sleeping pills?
I have been very tired lately (more than usual) and the only way I can sleep is with my sleeping pills. I want to know how people get extra sleep without the sleeping pills, if they cannot fall asleep or stay asleep on their own.

Take a hot bath before bed and turn on a fan. That’s what I do. Oh and eat a piece of toast.

Susan,
There’s a difference between “Fatigue” and being “Tired”.
As a woman, you have iron issues each month, hormonal changes, poor diet and exercise.
Eat balanced meals, lay off the sugars and caffine.
Sleepiness is the body’s way to regenerate after it has been used and resources exhausted. Try to exercise each day. Don’t nap during the day. Go to bed at the same time in a dark, quiet room, and think of nothing. Close your eyes and relax.
Pills are not the answer.
I turn the TV down but just so you can hear it and turn away from the TV and just listen and i just fall asleep.
im glad the person “0″ before me thinks all women have poor diet and exercise, since all we do is sit around on our butts all day and watch tv…right? what a crock.
Anyways,
there are natural herbs that can help you calm down and go to sleep. Some people enjoy a glass of wine, warm milk, lavender scented soap or oils, a dream machine (what i use), a sleep mask, or maybe get your husband or boyfriend to rub your back and/or legs. A warm bath or shower can be relaxing.
