Question by Ann T: How do I get wrinkles and spots out of a 100% polyester dress with a 100% acetate lining?
I bought a dress for a Marine Corps Ball at a thrift store, and am tight on money. it is a 100% polyester dress with a 100% acetate lining and has a couple small spots on it. It is also fairly wrinkled. any suggestions for at home treatment?

Spot clean it. Then spritz it lightly all over with water. Toss it in the dryer for a short time with a few damp Cotton not terry kitchen towels and 2 dryer sheets.
That should press it and take out any thrift store smell.

Run a hot tub or shower to steam up the bathroom then hang the dress in the room. Works well if you are traveling and don’t have an iron.
The spots are a different thing. You have no idea what the spot is in which case you could apply a few sequins over the spots and then a few here and there so it will look like they were meant to be there. It doesn’t have to be sequins …choose what you would like at a fabric store.
