Question by Greg Faircloth: Do Some ADHD medicines work like fat burners?
Thermogenic’s specifically? The reason I am asking is because I take Focalin for inattentive type ADHD and I have had some experience with Fat burners in the past. Since Focalin raises your core body temperature, causing a raise in a rise in metabolism, would it work similarly to thermogenic fat burners?
idk why i put *in a raise* lol

im on concerta ( the highest dose )
and others. but everytime i stop taking concerta – WEIGHT PACKS ON.
everytime i take it ( within a week tops ) – WEIGHT FALLS OFF.
i can drop 20 pounds within 3 weeks ( i know its not healthy )
but when i dont take it, i can put on 20 pounds in 3 weeks.
im goin to start taking it again so im gettin ready for everyone to notice
me dropping pounds again lol but then again my friend is on the same thing just a lower dose and
her weight remains the same, she actually gained about 10 pounds but thats from poor diet.

Stimulant ADHD medications do not “burn” fat.
The weight loss is due to decreased appetitie and increased cholinergic activity (ie: increased urine output and sweating).
Whether it increases your metabolism, not directly. It increases your heart rate which causes more calories to be used.
Taking this not perscribed and as a “fat burner” is dangerous.
Imperative you maintain adequate hydration and nutrition.
Also any heart problems are a major concern!!! (can cause sudden death).
