Question by : Best sleep aids that work for you?
I haven’t been able to fall asleep at a normal time for about 3 weeks. I took nyquil twice and those two nights were the only time I was able to sleep, but I don’t want to become dependent on it. Any suggestions for help getting to sleep would be great. thanks!

You can try eating a few crackers and a small glass of milk about 30 minutes before your normal bedtime.
If that doesn’t work, maybe some cocoa?
There are some other over the counter non-habit forming sleep aids – check at CVS or your local pharmacy. Make sure to read the label.
Good luck – hope you can get some sleep.

NyQuil
You could use Benadryl instead of Nyquil. It’s non-habit forming and safe to use for several nights in a row. If a week of using it doesn’t get you back into your normal rhythm, you should probably see your doc to make sure there isn’t a bigger issue, get more advice and possibly a temporary Rx to help get you back to normal.
